Email From Shootist Holiday

Shootist Holiday Winner : Cold Steel Dragonfly Swords
Lynn,

I appreciate your generosity in donating the knives and swords at the Shootist Holiday last week.
I was pleasantly surprised when I won the Dragonfly sword set in the raffle.
I have them displayed on my desk and I am resisting the urge to take them pig hunting!
I hope you have a good hunting trip to Australia.
See you at the next holiday.

Good shooting,
Roger

Hello Mr. Thompson

Big fan of your work, especially the tomahawk series. I plan to purchase the DVD instructional (likely from a Canadian supplier).

I was hoping you might be up for beefing up your biography on your website. I'm really interested in hearing about your struggles, how you overcame them, where you went to university and what your most favourite and least favourite courses were and a list of all the different places you've traveled.

Thanks for your consideration.

Mr. Thompson,

New fan of your work, purchased a three volume set of "Warriors Edge", was wondering what your dominant hand is? My strong side is my right, but I write left handed. My typical fighting stance is right handed, left foot forward. Normally, what hand should I hold the knife in? I'm trying to make adjustments so that I apply your technique in the videos properly. Thanks for the help.

@Randy - "When right handed use right hand forward, also practice left foot forward and left hand forward. It’s very desirable to be ambidextrous."

Lynn, I think Cold Steel knives are great, I own both the mini and full size AK-47 and I am awaiting the GI Tanto. My question to you is does Cold Steel ever take suggestions from buyers/users. Is there any way you can implement a section on your website that is kind of like a suggestion box. What does it take to become a knife designer at CS? Is a mechanical engineering degree or metalurgy degree required, or someone that is better for coming up with out of the box ideas and someone else takes care of the functional side of operations.

@killerkowalczyk - Thank you for your interest, but we already have a design staff. As for a "suggestion box" for the website it will be implemented soon thanks to you.

Mr. Thompson
I totally agree with your warrior concept. Everyone defend themselves and their families. In this wild world lord knows we need to. I recently became exposed to your spear hunting videos. I hunt with a re curve bow and am becoming quite good. I realized that hunting in this ancient method would really be an accomplishment and great experience. However being a college student monetary fund are really tight. I was wounding if you have any seconds or less quality spears that didn't make the high quality cut of Cold Steel products. Any thing you could spare would give me an oppertunity to learn this old method of hunting. I would really like to hunt in this years deer season but like I mentioned fund are not permitting. Anything would be great.

Yours Truly

Lynn, Please consider adding a waved thumb plate and aluminum pommel to the Cold Steel Recon 1 folders, that would make it the ultimate knife!!!

Hey Lynn, just wanted to say that I am a HUGE blade enthusiast, and being that Cold Steel makes some of the highest quality blades I have ever owned, I would like to thank you for everything you have done. I currently own six Sure Strike throwing stars, A True Flight thrower, A Torpedo, and a Sure Balance thrower. The next think i plan on adding to my collection is a Warrior Katana, once I savve up the money! I am too excited! Keep up the good work.
